Royal Marine in both the first and secod world wars. He was a corporal and he died 28.1.1942 in Gibralter

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

Hello,

I have just seen your web page and wondered if you could help me? A friend of mine who does not have a computer has asked me if I can help her find some information about her father. He was a Royal Marine in both the first and secomd world wars. He was a corporal and he died 28.1.1942 in Gibralter from illness having been wounded on board ship. My friend would like to know on which ship he might have served. Is
there a way I can find this out? I have details such as d.o.b and what must be a service number. Is there a way to find his service record?

Helen Sharp

Helen,

If you give me your friend's father's name and D of B, I should be able to find him on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site.

Regards.
Mac.
