Robert Alan Laws was the radar officer on HMS Trindad at the time when she torpedoed herself

Hello Mr. Gregory,

I came across your article on HMS Edinburgh when searching for "HMS Trindad and Kola". My late father (Robert Alan Laws) was the radar officer on HMS Trindad at the time when she torpedoed herself and then limped into Kola. I believe he did not sail with her on 13th (luckily for him) but I am not sure what ship he did leave Kola on.

Anyway, I just thought I'd email to say hello and to thank you for putting up your website.

Robert Laws

Hello Robert,

My thanks for your message.

It is always nice to hear from people who had a relative involved in some way with an event about which I have written.

Best wishes from Australia.

Mac.
