Mike Dunne is preparing a very comprehensive presentation on IJN Destroyer and Torpedo development Ahoy Mac! I am in the process of preparing a very comprehensive presentation on IJN Destroyer and Torpedo development for the Navy Historical Society and the Seapower Centre in Canberra. Naturally, the redoubtable Raizo Tanaka will be the Star of the presentation! In researching material about Admiral Tanaka I came across your story and I must say I am very impressed! Very clear and straight forward! I would like to use a small amount of your material and would be delighted to give you credit if you will kindly give me permission to do so. Although the copy will bear little resemblance to your work, I would still like to have an Australian Navy historian's work included and duly aknowledged! There may be many ways I can help you with your site too! I am and ardent student of the IJN in WWII and apart from being a trieless researcher I am also a dab hand at illustrations! I have attached one of my drawings for your perusal. The plane depicted is my own design (paying attention to the work of a particular designer and manufacturer) and will serve to demonstrate my drawing skills. I am presenting my IJN talk to the Seapower Centre September in Canberra 24th...any chance you can attend? Kindest regards
I have sent a copy of the USS Phoenix photo, and my piece on the Falklands War.
Give me a buzz when you get back from holidays and we'll talk about Aircraft Drawings! I would be delighted to work with you! Mike Dunne
