Mac and Denise were booked on Flight 77 interview for documentary film for TLC/Discovery

April 25, 2013

Dear Mac,

I hope this finds you well. I'm working on a documentary film for TLC/Discovery about passengers and crew who narrowly missed being on board the four fatal 9/11 flights and the effects it has had on their lives ever since. The piece is scheduled to air on September 11th, 2013, and will be the channel's centerpiece as we commemorate the 12th
anniversary of 9/11.

I believe that you and your wife were scheduled to be on flight 77 on the morning of the attacks and I'd be very interested in talking to you about your experience. I look forward to being in touch soon.

Sincerely,
Tamara

Tamara,

Nice to hear from you.

Yes both Denise and I were booked on Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon killing all on board.

On Monday September 9, 2001 at the USS Canberra ship's bell ceremony at the Washington Naval Yard, our Prime Minister invited us both to join him the next day on his visit to Arlington Cemetery

To visit the grave site of the only Australian serviceman buried there, we readily agreeed and we were taken off American Airlines Flight 77, and rebooked later in that week.

Without any doubt John Howard had saved our lives.

Look forward to hearing from you as convenient.

We have just upheld Anzac Day here in Melbourne to a fine sunny day, and I was invited to do the TV commentary covering the Navy's involvement.

Regards.
Mac.
