Location of the Cheshire at the sinking of the SS Leopoldville?

Hi;

Very informative site concerning the sinking of the Leopoldville. (see "Belgian Trooper SS Leopoldville, sunk by U-486. Christmas eve 1944, and 763 US troops die") Could you please tell me if you have any information about the location of the Cheshire at the time of the sinking? A friend of  mine has told me his father was on the other troop ship.

Any information would be of big help.
