John & Nigel McKinnon were members of the crew of SS Athenia when it was sunk in 1939

My wifes two uncles were members of the crew (SS Athenia) when it was sunk in 1939. I wondered if you may have any information their names were John & Nigel McKinnon. We once were told of a book in the library called a Night of Terror which was about the sinking but were unable to locate a copy. Anything would be gratefully received.

Yours
B.Morley.

Brian,

I only have a list of the 19 crew members of Athenia who died on the 3rd. of September 1939 when the ship was sunk.

John and Nigel are not listed so they must have survived.

The book you are seeking is called: Tomorrow Never Came. Sinking of the SS Athenia. It was written by Max Caulfield, published by Norton of New York in 1958, here is a second hand copy available.

Hope this is of some interest to you.

Best wishes,
Mac. Gregory.
