Jack Edgar Stevenson Served Aboard SS Albino Perez during Convoy UGS-40

August 21, 2009

Sir,

My father served aboard the SS Albino Perez as a member of the Armed Guard crew in Convoy UGS-40. And "during the period 11 May 1944" received the Bronze Star. I have the certificate issued by the Twelfth Naval District, but I do not know what he won the medal for.  His name was Jack Edgar Stevenson.

I was hoping that perhaps someone might have served with him.

Thank you for your wonderful web log.

Kay,

Thank you for your kind words about AHOY, it is a joint effort with my Atlanta Web Master Terry Kearns, without TK it would not really happen.

I do the research and scribbling, and Terry whips it into AHOY that shows its face to all out there on the net.

I cannot find any specific details for your Father and his award of a Bronze Star , but here are some details of this Medal.
