Could you please advise me if the book Janes Fighting Ships 1941 by Sampson Low, Marston & Co Naval publishers is of any Historical Value or just a Coffee Table book.

No, Janes is not a coffee table type of book, its one of the best reference books on Naval ships that one may acquire. A 1941 edition would carry the ships involved in WW2, and if you like that type of reference would be well worth while.
