Father was aboard Dunedin Star when it ran aground he was a gunner aboard the ship

my father who is 83 and had 2 daughters never spoke to us about his army days but did mention about being ship wrecked. it wasn`t until very recently he told me he was on the Dunedin Star when it ran aground. he was a gunner aboard the ship
