Captain J P Sparling

I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the direction of getting information on the naval career of Captain
John Patrick Sparling.

I understand that he was in the Merchant Navy and was in command of a depot ship in Scapa Flow during WW2.

He died on the 8th Oct 1959

I have attached a photograph of Captain Sparling which may be of assistance
