"Cammell Laird: Shipbuilders to the World" at Birkenhead, England by Alex Naughton

Hello from Australia,

May I reproduce the fascinating History of the Cammell Laird Shipyard at Birkenhead on my AHOY web site ( the URL is ahoy.tk-jk.net )

If you do agree, how would you like it to be acknowledged please?

Best Regards,
Mackenzie Gregory.

Hi,

Yes certainly. Please acknowledge it to Alex Naughton (www.rmswindsorcastle.wanadoo.co.uk).

By the way your Australian Navy ship HMAS Anzac is here in the UK at the moment and was at the International Fleet Review and the International Festival of the Sea in Portsmouth last week. I actually went on board her which was great.

Alex

Alex,

My thanks for your generosity.

Here is the article.

I did see a report on the Portsmouth Review on our TV, and Anzac looked quite smart.

Do you live in Pompey? or were you just visiting.

Over part of 1941 I did my Sub Lieutenant's courses there, and post war in 1947, I did the first combined Torpedo Anti- Submarine Specialist course, and was at HMS Vernon for six months, and we lived at Southsea, and Cosham. They were great times, although that winter was one of the worst in memory.

Nice to talk to you.
Mac.
