70th anniversary HMAS Canberra? LS Frank Robert Salamon who was KIA on HMAS Canberra July 9, 2012 Hello Mac, My par(t)ner is the child of LS Frank Robert Salamon who was KIA on HMAS Canberra. I would like to ask if you know of any events that might be organised for the 70th anniversary? My partner knows next to nothing about her father, or the exact circumstance of his death, as she had no contact with her father's relatives until very recently, and had spent a number of years in an orphanage. We do know that her father was in one of the forward gun crews and was doing a second shift in place of a sick gun crew member. I would also be grateful if you could tell me where I might find details of F.R. Salamon's burial at sea? Regards
I am not aware of any celebration for the 70th anniversary of the sinking of HMAS Canberra, nor do I have details of the burial at sea of Frank Salamon. Best wishes, |
