20th Earl of Suffolk & Berkshire, RMS Oronsay 1925/1926

February 10, 2012

Hi

I am writing a book about 20th Earl of Suffolk & Berkshire. I know he spent a number of years living in Queensland, Australia, with a captain (of the Mount Stewart) called William McColm and his wife Adelaide and his two sons
Malcolm and Donald. They arrived, I believe, in Australia, Sydney (probably) on the RMS Oronsay in 1925/1926.

Can you help me verify those facts? If you are unable, perhaps you could point me in the right direction of where to get them.

Also, is there any chance  someone would know what luggage was listed for the 20th Earl? I believe he had valuable paintings travelling with him. In that case, would they have been locked up somewhere?

Any help you can give me in this would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

Best regards

Kerin,

See this URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Howard_20th_Earl_of_Suffolk

The Earl worked as a Jackaroo in Australia around 1928.

Regret no details about his luggage.

Regards,
Mac.
